About

What are the elements of great portraiture photography? With today's technological advances in point and shoot personal cameras can't anyone do it? Tammy Page has worked hard to hone her craft and will tell you that the end result is achieved through much more than the magic of pressing the exposure release button.

Tammy has a very relaxed and casual approach to photography and believes that the best portraits are captured when people are being authentic without the staged shopworn techniques of "say cheese" and "smile!" Whether it be a newborn's gaze, a child's play or a couple's loving stare, she will capture these moments by using a natural and relaxed approach to make the session enjoyable. During a session she encourages calm, reflective expression and a warm sense of humor allows her to be adaptive to most every situation that arises. Tammy's real gift is her ability to put others at ease while they sit before a camera. She believes that the pace of portrait sessions should be relaxed and not rushed and, therefore, allows ample time and attention to capture the moments you will treasure. She says, "When you're tense and uncomfortable the camera will see it."

The process begins with the creative consultation when Tammy discusses and works with you to design an image that suits your style. She will guide you in decisions that help reflect who you are e.g. the venue, attire and mood that you wish to have portrayed. Tammy will work with your schedule and help determine the best time of day for your portrait session, working around naps, feedings, and the individual needs of you and your children. The actual portrait session typically lasts an hour or so in studio depending on the number of people involved. Tammy works with the top of the line highest resolution professional digital equipment which allows for an unlimited amount of digital exposures. There's never a limit, she simply doesn't feel that is fair to her clients. Backdrops are simple and props are kept to a minimum so that the eye is drawn to the faces creating images that touch your heart.
